What is sanctification? It's certainly a big word that sounds very theological and perhaps intimidating. But it's also one of RUF's three principles...the three things we really want our students to "get": Justification, Sanctification, and Scripture. The Westminster Shorter Catechism defines it as "the work of God’s free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness." But what does this even mean? How does this work? What does this mean for us, and what does it mean for college students?
RUF National just produced a fantastic video about the principle of Sanctification...it even features our former UT campus minister (and current area coordinator) Brent Harriman near the beginning. This video is a great help in both thinking through our own sanctification, as well as RUF's teaching and philosophy ministry on campuses all over the country...including the University of Tennessee! As RUF staff, this is what we are praying for our own lives, as well as what we seeking to communicate to students.
